Dan is an award-winning director & screenwriter based in the UK.
His work has won three BAFTA awards, and seven BAFTA and EMMY nominations.
He recently completed a 2hr instalment of the ITV primetime crime drama GRACE. He is currently working on a film adaptation of Ian McEwan’s novel NUTSHELL for Snapper Films.
Recent directing credits include the Christmas family comedies Gangsta Granny Strikes Again (BBC) and Hansel & Gretel: After Ever After(Sky) both starring Sheridan Smith, and he also set up and opened the award-winning BBC Sci-Fi series Silverpoint.
Previous drama work includes: Eric, Ernie and Me (BBC 4); the Bafta-winning Case Histories: When Will There Be Good News (BBC1) adapted from Kate Atkinson’s novel and starring Jason Isaacs; The Queen & I (Sky) adapted from the novel by Sue Townsend; The Collection (Amazon); The Ice Cream Girls (ITV); Consuming Passion (BBC) starring Olivia Colman, Daniel Mays and Jodie Whittaker and Hattie starring Ruth Jones - still BBC4’s highest rating drama.
Comedy credits include Inside No.9, The Other One, Siblings, Pramface, Ideal. and The Artist, (Emmy-nominated Sky Urban Myth starring Rupert Grint and Iwan Rheon),
Dan was recently commissioned to write the pilot episode for a comedy series ‘Do Not Resuscitate’ (Gaumont). Past writing credits include sweetnightgoodheart (BBC2) starring David Tennant, Bafta-nominated short films That Sunday (C4) and Dual Balls (BBC), BBC’s Pramface series 3 opener, and original screenplay ‘Project Mustard’, winner of the Tribeca Sloan development award at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Dan is a Trustee of the Directors Charitable Foundation, the charity for the UK’s stage and screen directors. He is the trustee lead on Mental Health. He is also a Samaritans listening volunteer.
